Eczema: Definition, Unknown Facts, Things to do at home & Herbal Preparations


  The most common word used by the common people to describe his skin infection in India. Most cases seen in rural areas where people are not aware about their health and hygiene. Rural unauthorized medical practice makes these cases worse by giving wrong medications.

      Basically it represents a wide number of skin infections under one umbrella and that called Eczema. It is a disease of the epidermis layer of the skin. It is not contagious. It is an inflammatory disorder of the skin in response of endogenous or exogenous stimuli.
Ø  Localised Oedema in the affected area.

Ø  Weeping
Ø  Crusting
Ø  Vesiculation Oozing

Ø  Aggravation on certain stimulation (May be food or Any External touch of anything)
Things to Know
Ø  Contact Dermatitis is a very common form of Eczema where the skin respond to external stimuli and represents itching, rashes, erythema, oozing, etc. Commonly seen in women and men but common in those who having an exposer to alkaline or acidic media.
Ø  It is most commonly seen among teens.
Ø  It is an allergic condition of the skin and if we can keep the pollens away, the condition betters soon.
Ø  Inflamed skin is usually remains itchy and our scratch a lot causes patches and skin becomes thickened.
Ø  One of Six-school going students suffers from it. In most of the cases, it develops before age five. In mid teenager, it usually vanishes itself. However, in few cases it may persist.
Ø  One in twenty adults develops such skin infection.
Ø  Eight Out of ten teens used to develop such infections where there parents also suffering from the same. That indicates the hereditary occurrence.
Ø  People suffering from such diseases having less lipid barrier in their skin layers.
Things to do at home
Ø  Avoid the know irritants.
Ø  Avoid soap water contact with the affected area.
Ø  Avoid mud and soil contact.
Ø  Neem leaves dust or juice can used in water for bathing.
Ø  Keep the area clean and dry.
Ø  Plenty amount of water orally.
Ø  Use of Neem bark and leaf dust shows some good results
Ø  Cow urine mix with Vasak (Adhatoda vasika) leafs juice locally.
Ø  Tulshi (occimum sactam) Leafs dust mix with Neem Leaf dust shows good result.
Ø  Seeds of Karanja and Tulshi paste and using that locally shows very good results.
Ø  Some foods may also aggravate the severity and such food must avoided.
Ø  Cotton cloths are good to wear. Use of polyester or Tre cotton may cause irritation.
Ø  Avoid spicy and heavy diet.
Ø  Avoid alcohol and tobacco smoking.
