Irritable bowel Syndrome (IBS/Grahani): Causes, Symptoms, Precautions, Home Remedies, Herbal Remedies.

Irritable bowel syndrome is very irritable for sufferers. It is very hard to get some relief from IBS. It is seen all over the world and in all classes of people. The most problem occurs when suffering peoples goes out for outdoor works. A lack of satisfaction always remains in mind. It is very good for us that God has gifted us so many magical herbs, which shows some wonderful effects on IBS. In Ayurveda, there is plenty of scope to treat such kind of syndromes. IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) IBS is a psycho-motor disorder characterized by altering bowel habit with mid nagging and abdominal colic. Patients always feel the urgency of defecation. Whenever there is, hurry on anything to do first patients usually suffers more. The pain is that even after several times of attempt patients never satisfies with is bowel moment.

Causes & Factors:

  1. Cause of Irritable bowel syndrome is uncertain!! Yes in most the cases it is an unknown mystery.
  2. It is psychomotor disorder, people suffers from depression suffers more.
  3. Psychological disturbances aggravate IBS with increased anxiety.
  4. Some foods may trigger the severity. People often complain about certain foods, which triggers the IBS.
  5. Excessive use of laxatives is a common cause. People who having Constipation often depends on laxative regularly for a long time and such users are typically in the high risk.
  6. Parasites may be a triggering factor like Giardiasis. · Worm infestation is another big issue. Only Anti Worm medicines sometimes relives from such symptoms.
  7. Vitamin deficiency, like niacin, B-12 or folic acid also triggers the IBS.
  8. Excessive use of certain antibiotics, like Amoxycillin, Cefexime etc.
  9. Intolerance of any common food like milk or milk products. Many people having this problem just after from their birth. Even many children cannot even tolerate their mom's milk.
  10. Alcohol is a cell killing poison, which causes intestinal cell damage and damaged cells mean inadequate digestion, followed by diarrhoea and IBS.
  11. Excessive use of Antacid suspensions, · Loss of normal bacterial flora. · Irregular bowl habit due to own bad habits.

Symptoms:

  1. Diarrhea occurs in the morning commonly.
  2. Diarrhea occurs very rarely in the nights.
  3. Urge to defecate even after a small meal.
  4. Never satisfactory deification.
  5. Urgency for passing stool.
  6. Pain in lower abdomen, which relives generally after defecation.
  7. Abdominal distension
  8. Excessive flatus passing
  9. Dyspepsia
  10. Anorexia
  11. Fear of eating some particular and any unknown food
  12. Burning chest or Heart burns feeling.
  13. Tape or ribbon like stools with or without mucus.
  14. Alternate diarrhoea and constipation
  15. Feeling of fullness abdomen with Gas
  16. Bloating & Cramping sensation
  17. General Weakness
  18. Loss of weight.

Precaution & Home Works:

  1. The first thing to do is change your diet list and avoid the known intestine allergic food, recipes. · Stop taking milk and all milk products (buttermilk is good) instead of that, Soya milk is a substituted option.
  2. Avoid heavy meal (as they are tough to digest) and take small amount nutritious food.
  3. Stop taking excessive hot and cold food or drinks.
  4. Soda water or Coca drinks should be avoided
  5. The restriction should be maintained in alcohol consumption.
  6. Avoid stress
  7. Take pro-biotic like curd or it can be available in the market in capsule or sachet form.
  8. Work slowly and don't put yourself in hurry.
  9. Last but not the east a self-confidence to grow up in mind over abdominal discomfort.
  10. Plenty of fluid orally
  11. Try more fibre rich food.
  12. Eat more vegetables and fruits.
  13. Go for regular exercise and burn your excess fats
  14. Go for Yoga for a stress free life.
  15. Try Meditation more concentration on work rather than stool.

Home Remedies:

  1. Bilava (Aegle marmelos) Choorna (Powder) or Juice daily morning in empty stomach.
  2. Butter milk (Tarka) with Chitrak ( White leadwort or Boga agechita or Plumbago)
  3. Butter Milk with Chabaya and Pipal mool (root of Bo-Tree or Ashwatha tree) and Black pepper.
  4. Mandukaparni (Centella asiatica) leaves, raw juice in empty stomach in the morning.
  5. Don't take any laxative or Antacid suspension.
  6. Drink green tea. It is beneficial for your guts.
  7. Try cornflakes and Oatmeal in the breakfast.
  8. Drink daily 4/5 litre water
  9. Try ginger mix soup or tea as its makes the digestive system smooth and superior.
  10. Jeera (Cumin) or Ajwain after food is very good for digestion.
  11. Dry ginger or Sunthi is also good for GUTs when taken after food regularly.

Herbal Preparations:

  1. Bhubaneswer Rasa or Bhubaneswer Vati (Classical): 2 tab twice daily after food with luke warm water.
  2. Kutajaghana Vati (Classical) 2 tab twice daily after food.
  3. Kanaksundar Rasa (Classical) 1 tab twice daily after food.
  4. Tarkrista (Classical) 4 tsf twice daily with half glass water just after food (Not suitable for Diabetic Persons And children under 10 years)
  5. Piyush Bali Rasa (Classical) 1 tab thrice daiy.
  6. Chaturmukh Rasa (Classical) 1 tab twice daily.
  7. Mustakarista (Classical) 4 tsf twice daily with half glass water just after food (Not suitable for Diabetic Persons And children under 10 years)
  8. Jeerakadhyarista (Classical) 4 tsf twice daily with half glass water just after food (Not suitable for Diabetic Persons And children under 10 years)
  9. Bilvadhi Choorna (Classical) 1 tsf thric daily with water
  10. Nagarjun Vati (Classical) 2 tab twice (for Water stool with cold water but for constipated stool with luke warm water)
  11. Jthiphaladhi Vati (Classical) 1 tab twice daily
  12. Tab. Diarex  2 tab twic daily
  13. Cap. Billagyl 1 cap twice daily
  14. Syp. Curocurchin 3 tsf thirce daily
  15. Syp. Amicurchin 2 tsf thrice daily
  16. Cap. Trikutu 2 cap twice daily
  17. Isaphagol Husk 2 tsf with water 30 minutes before dinner
