Vasant Malti Ras: Indications, Ingredients, Dosages, Safety.

Reference Text:

  • Bhaishajya Ratnavali/Jwara Chikitsa Prakaran

Main Ingredients:

  1. Swarna Bhasma,
  2. Mukta Bhasma,
  3. Shudh Hingul,
  4. Maricha,
  5. Kharpara Bhasma.

Indications:

  1. It alleviates chronic fever and other respiratory ailments i.e bronchitis, bronchial asthma &
  2. the like.
  3. It also promotes digestive power. This medicine has the power of curing all
  4. types of fevers (Jwar).
  5. Ideally it should be taken with Guduchi satva & sugar.
  6. In the ailment like Dhatugata jvara it is given with Anupana of root juice of Bijapurkar.

Dosages:

  • 1 to 2 tab (100-200 mg) to be taken in the morning and evening with milk.

Dietary Advice:

  • Green Vegetables or light digestible food

Avoid:

  • Alcohol, Sour Food, Fried Food & Curd.

Caution:

  • To be taken under Medical Supervision only.

Safety:

  • Vasant Malti Ras was tested over 90 days oral toxicity in experimental mode and was found safe in the given doses up to 80 mg/kg/day.
